Tickets are now available to see Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram at The Garage!
Straight out of Mississippi, legendary blues rock singer and guitarist, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, is performing at The Garage this June.
The grammy nominated debut album ‘Kingfish’ is said to be the ‘blues voice of his generation’. Rolling Stone Magazine say ‘Kingfish… one of the most exciting young guitarists in years, with a sound that encompasses B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Prince.”
At the young age of 22 he holds many milestones, including Elton John interviewing him on his Apple music podcast ‘Rocket Hour’ and has performed with musicians such as Vampire Weekend and Buddy Guy. Moreover, his latest album ‘662’ is named after the telephone area code for his Northern Mississippi home, which came into use in 1999 (the year he was born).
He says“ 662..direct reflection of my growth as a musician, a songwriter, and as a young man… an incredible time of change… I’m a better and stronger person”.
Born to a musical family, he fell in love with music as a small child, initially playing drums and bass. However, he got his first guitar at a very young age. Leading to inspiration ranging from B.B King to Robert Johnson and Lightnin’ Hopkins.
