Admittance to the Venue

In accordance with section 27 of the licensing law the venue has the right to refuse admission without providing a reason. If you have consumed alcohol prior to arrival & appear to be in an intoxicated state or behave inappropriately in the queue or in view of the venue staff you may be refused entry without a refund.

The venue operates a random search policy as a bare minimum and all bags are searched. Refusing to be searched or have your belongings searched will lead to refusal of admission without a refund

Crowd surfing, smoking within the venue, the throwing of drinks and any other behaviour deemed as inappropriate whilst inside the venue will result in ejection from the premises without a refund.

Once you have entered a venue there will be no pass outs and no re-admittance. Should you leave the venue for any reason you will not be readmitted and no refund will be given.

The Garage restricts the age of those attending to children 14 years old and over due to sound levels and crowd profiles. To attend a show unaccompanied you must be 16 and over. Those aged 14 or 15 years old can only enter the premises if accompanied by an adult. We will allow small groups of children with a single adult but to ensure there is suitable supervision of children on the premises, we will not allow large groups of children to be mentored by a single adult.

Children who appear to look under the age of 14 that arrive at a show and cannot prove they are 14 or over may be refused entry depending on the type of show. The duty manager who represents the license in force on the day will make the decision to admit children to the premises in line with the statutory duties they are responsible for. Parents will be called to collect their child if the show is not suitable for the person to attend unaccompanied. No refund will be given in this instance.

Some live events are Over 18’s and in some cases over 21’s with no exceptions, and all late night entertainment beyond 11pm is strictly 18+.

Only acceptable forms of proof are accepted. These are listed under the ID policy.

Please ensure you read all the show details prior to booking tickets.

Anyone who looks to be under the age of 21 years will be challenged to prove their age to buy alcohol. The venue operates Challenge 21.

Accepted forms of ID are: Driver’s license (full or provisional), or a Passport (valid) or PASS Card with the pass hologram.

Any ID found to be fraudulent will be confiscated and handed in at Islington Police Station.

If you are lucky enough to look under 21, you will be asked to prove that you are over 18, when you purchase alcohol.

All customers who look under the age of 21 may be required to provide ID when purchasing alcohol.

If you are under 18 you are committing a criminal offence if you attempt to buy alcohol and you may be ejected without a refund or held until a responsible adult can come and collect you.

People over the age of 18 found purchasing drinks for those not of legal age will be ejected without a refund.

Only acceptable forms of proof are accepted. These are listed under the ID policy.

In the Venue

Each venue has one cloakroom. If you are bringing a bag bigger than a ladies handbag and items such as motor bike helmets, backpacks etc with you we request that these are left in the cloakroom.

Please be aware that no item will be given out from the cloakroom without the matching ticket being presented. If you have lost your ticket you will be asked to wait till the end of the event to collect your belongings.

If you have lost items or left them in the cloakroom please email the venue directly on garage.bars@mamagroup.co.uk with a description of the missing item, date of the show contact details and any other relevant information. The venue will check and if the item can be located will be in contact to arrange for you to collect the item.

The venue keeps items for a maximum of 1 month, after this period they are passed to local charity shops. Valuable items may be held for a longer period.

Items such as passports etc are handed to the police if not collected within the time frame.

In line with the law, The Garage is a non smoking venue. Smoking is not permitted in any area of the venue.

As a result of customer demand there is a dedicated smoking area which is usually accessible shortly after doors open. Please be aware if you appear to be under 18 you may be asked for ID to enter the smoking area.

Those found to be smoking inside the venue may be ejected without a refund.

There are no specific seated areas located within the venue. Depending on the nature of the show some seats may be available although they may not have views of the stage.

Merchandise can be purchased from the stand located inside the venue.

Live Performances

For the majority of shows the doors open at 7pm with a curfew of 11pm. On nights when there are club events after a gig the curfew can be 10.30pm.

Door opening times will be printed on the tickets.

Late night events start and finish times differ and details will be on the tickets and the event information page found on the venue’s website.

Show times & support acts will be listed on the venue’s website & social networking pages as and when they are known to the venue. Normally this is not known until the day of the show.

All times and support acts listed are subject to change and are to be used as guidance only. Do not use the stage times listed to make travel arrangements.

Some shows will contain strobe lighting or smoke effects. Signage will be up in the venue to advise of this. Should you have an issue please speak to a member of staff on the night.

Please be aware that there will be high sound levels during shows and patrons may be subject to continuous sound levels which may cause potential damage to hearing. Ear plugs are available on request should they be required.

The venue operates a neighbour friendly policy, when leaving the venue please make as little noise as possible.

If you have a complaint about the venue or event please speak to a member of security who will try to assist and in turn, if necessary, ask for the Duty Manager immediately during the show to try and resolve the issue.

Complaints after an event should be sent in writing (via email) directly to the Venue’s enquiry address listed here.

Prohibited & limited items

We discourage bringing medication to the Venues; however we do understand that for some people this is a necessity. Therefore should a person attend a show with prescription drugs the following applies:

A sealed package of prescribed medication of a small quantity is permitted providing that the persons name is on the label. A prescription for the medication if possible should be brought with you if possible.

Any person with items that are deemed unidentifiable / not in the original packaging or of a large quantity will be asked to speak with the Medics on the night who will assess the situation and the items may be removed until after the show and held in the medical room where they can be accessed if required.

Please be aware that evidence may be requested by security on entry. You may also be requested to speak with the Duty Manager.

A person who intends to bring into a venue medical sharps will be asked to discuss their usage with the Duty Manager in a private area, to ensure that their condition requires immediate access to these items and to also ensure the customer is aware of how to locate and access an area whereby they can administer the required treatment without any concern.

No food or beverages should be brought into the Venues; these will be removed on search and confiscated. This includes sweets & chewing gum.

The bars at the venue do stock snacks, however we advise you to eat before arriving at the venue.

Free drinking water is available on request at bars throughout the venues.

Should you require the items for medical reasons please make this known to the security personnel on the front door who will contact the Duty Manager to discuss this in private.

Alternatively if possible contact the Venue via email in advance of the show.

No professional cameras (with large or detachable lenses), video cameras or tape recorders are permitted in the venue. Should you be found to have these on arrival you will be asked to either take them back to somewhere safe or be asked to deposit them in the box office free of charge.

Small compact cameras are allowed unless specified otherwise on the day of the show by the artist or their representatives.

What info we collect, why we collect it & how long we keep it

  • Your Name (First & Last): We’re all friends here and it’s important to us that we address you like a friend so you can have a pleasant and personal experience with us, we can’t do that without your name. We’ll keep this for up to 8 years after your last interaction with us. That interaction could be by booking a ticket, signing up to our mailing list or sending us an email.
  • Address: A key bit of info we need to send out any information for a gig to your home address. We’ll keep this for no longer than 8 years from your last purchase date. If you’ve given us your address for a competition, we’ll use this to send you your prize and then delete the info.
  • IP Address & Device type: Like most companies we have Cookies installed on our website so that we can track visitors (this is just a small piece of code inserted into a website’s HTML). We use Cookies to target adverts at people online who have visited our website. For more information on this, you can see our Cookies policy here. We also can see information such as the device you use to access our website, and this helps to inform us on how to provide the best customer experience for you. You can clear your Cookies at any point and details of how to do this are on our Cookies policy.
  • Email address: We use your email address to send all the important information for shows you have booked tickets for, for example, if there’s a cancellation or change in door time. If you have opted in to receive marketing emails from us then we’ll also use it to keep you up to date with everything going on at Oslo. You can opt out of these emails by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ button at the bottom of any email we send you or by emailing or writing to us with your details. We’ll keep this for up to 8 years after your last interaction with us. That interaction could be by booking a ticket, signing up to our mailing list or sending us an email.
  • Mobile number: To send you reminders and promotional texts for future events, sometimes even free drinks and upgrades!  Please note we have to pass your mobile number on to an external company who send out text messages on our behalf. We keep this for up to 8 years since your last interaction.
  • Date of birth: This is to help us get a better understanding of our audience and to send you information about the gigs we think you’ll like. By signing up to our mailing list or buying a ticket you’re confirming that you are over 13. If this is not the case, please email datamanager@dhpfamily.com to have your details removed. We also use your D.O.B to make sure we’re not sending you any promotions related to alcohol if you’re under 18. As your D.O.B stays the same we’ll hold this information for as long as you’re opted in to our mailing lists (we’ll check in with you regularly to see that you still want to be on our database).
  • Musical interests: The reason you’re here in the first place! This information is important so that we can keep you up to date on the events that matter most to you. To help reduce crime and disorder on DHP Family premises. To improve crime detection and provide evidence in legal claims or prosecutions DHP Family has several different CCTV systems in it premises which all have a recording function which records over existing data when the storage is full. These systems are set up to record data for a minimum of 31 days in normal circumstances. Data on the CCTV systems will be deleted after 3 months if not already over written by the normal function of the CCTV system. Copies may be made of CCTV recordings and kept for 3 years when part of legal proceedings or where we have reasonable grounds to expect the will form part of legal proceedings.
  • Accident Records: We have a legal duty to record accidents and accident records form part of the information gathered by DHP Family. We use accident anonymised data to monitor safety performance within DHP Family operations. We keep these records for 8 years. We will remove personal information from records after 8 years. We will use anonymised data indefinitely or until it is no longer used in monitoring safety to the company.
