This spirit’s on fire……. ESSEX BOYZ BRINGIN’ THAT SKA NOIZE. DEATH OF GUITAR POP ARE SILKY & TOP KAT.
Consistently, DOGP have been building a huge buzz since 2016 since self releasing the debut track ‘Rickety Old Train’. Their Ska Pop sound unites Skinheads, Mods and Rudies. Endorsements come from Pauline Black (The Selecter) and Dave Wakeling (The Beat).
They play live with Manners horn section alongside Neville Staple (The Specials) on the track ‘Suburban Ska Club’. Alongside this, they’ve featured as one of the Fred Perry Subculture artists. In 2019 they collaborated with BAFTA winning Inbetweeners actor Jeff Buckley for CALM Charity. Proceeds went to mental health awareness via their Christmas single ‘Feeling Like A Right James Blunt At Christmas’, which reached number 28 in The Official Charts and Amazon Music.
Both albums by DOGP have been crowd-funded with a whopping 20K raised by fans – the love is strong in the Ska Club (a subscription-based fan club).
Silky says his favourite venue is “where we played our debut full band headline show at The Oslo Venue in Hackney a couple of weeks ago. That’s a great gaff!” – our very own DHP Family sibling!
